P6 handgun
This P6 handgun has been specifically designed for suppressed firing and is presently issued in the Soviet Union forces. Developed approximately the Makarov handgun, the P6 has an basic suppressor body built around the barrel that has been ported to assure a subsonic bullet. The slide has a manual latch that locks it shut during firing, eliminating most of the mechanical noise. The extension suppressor significantly reduces the sound signature, making the P6 an efficiently suppressed weapon. The extension suppressor is carried in a pocket in the holster and several of these weapons obtained from Afghanistan have been picked up without the extension. The operator in the field can maintain the entire weapon and suppressor assembly.
