Glock hand gun
Glock was founded by Mr. Gaston Glock, an engineer, in 1963 in Deutsch-Wagram, near Vienna to focus in the manufacture of plastic and steel components. In the 1980s, the Austrian forces decided to obtain a new duty hand gun asking numerous famous local and foreign weapon manufacturers for their bids. Due to Glocks excellent reputation with previous military contracts, Glock was also invited to bid on this new contract. This was a new challenge for the company, since hand guns were not in its produce line at that time. The result was a burst through in firearms technology. With its polymer frame, the Glock hand gun was considerably light in weight had the highest magazine capacity of any other hand gun in its class.
Mostly known for being the manufacturer of polymer-framed hand guns, Glock also produces equipment such as field knives and entrenching tools. The company started life as a manufacturer of curtain rods, and then branched out into supplying the Austrian Army with gun belts, practice hand grenades, plastic magazines and field knives. Since then, the company has added special options and accessories such as tactical lights and a quick-draw holster to its product line.
