About Bersa handguns

Bersa handguns are manufactured in Argentina by the Bersa S.A. Company. Thunder handguns are accessible, in several different versions. The Thunder-380 pistols are of simple blowback design, while more powerful Thunder-9, Thunder-40 and Thunder-45 pistols are of locked breech design.

The Thunder 380 handgun protect the hand from being 'bitten' by the actions of the hammer or the slide, but has a slide-mounted manual safety lever, which when switched to safe points downwards past the slide's sketch: if the user has very large hand the handgun carelessly while manually cycling the slide, the lever can a little cut the hand. Independently, the price of additional factory magazines is much higher than one might expect, but some third party manufacturers, such as Pro Mag Industries, have marketed alternatives (although of somewhat dubious reliability). There is, certainly, this awareness between many pistol consumers that a .380 ACP cartridge is not powerful enough to provide reliable and timely neutralization of an assailant.

Bersa handgun are comparatively reasonably priced and offer honest dependability, making them high-quality personal defense handguns. The only differences between Thunder and Thunder-mini pistols are dimension and magazine capacity. The Ultra-Compact .45 pistols are approximately intermediate in size between typical and tiny pistols, and, unlike smaller caliber handguns, they have a single stack magazine.
Bersa Thunder 9 handgun are standard issue pistols for the Argentinean Federal Police and the Buenos Aires Province Police.

2013-01-05 I have a Bersa ultra compact 9mm. I have fired only about 100 rounds because every 3-4 shots it jams on me? What could be causing this?

2011-12-05 I have a stainless Thunder 380. I have owned this gun for about 10 or 11 years. I quilified for my CWP 8 years ago. Since then I use it for my carry weapon. I have never had any problems with the weapon except the rear sight blade, the adjustable piece came out during one of the times I was carrying it. Will Bersa replace this or do I need to purchase it. If so where do I find this Item. I have been to several gun stores and no one can find this for me. I have also recently obtained my FFL and would like a catalog or infomation on selling your products.

2011-10-27 Excellent gun for a reasonable price. I've shot more than 3000 rounds without any problems. Sights ( both front and rear) could be more bright.

2011-04-09 I have a Bursa 380 Thunder as my concealed handgun. I like it alot but it is just to large to carry. I recently bought a Smith @ Wesson 380 Bodyguard, alot smaller easy to carry and conceal. You have to remeber that these guns are for short distance protection... I also have a Ruger 45 caliber, now that will take you out at a longer distance. That what I use to qualify to get my conceal weapon license. The 380 is for personal protection and remeber it's for a short distance shot!!!

2010-10-15 I own a Bersa 380 and Bersa 40cal Pro. I feel these guns are excelent in performance and price. I am considering the purchase of a Bersa 9mm in the near future. I have not had any problem with the two Bersa pistols I presently own and I am looking forward to a third addition.

2010-04-14 I have a (Bersa) Lusber 844 Cal.7.65. After shooting it several times the take down Latch broke. Is this a common problem with this model? Where can I get a replacement part (Take down Latch)?

2009-12-14 I have a Bersa Thunder 9 HC.Liked the weight and feel of the gun compared to the other 9mm's i was looking at. good price for a 9. Enjoy shooting this gun .Have only put about 1000 rounds thru it , but so far no issues at all. My only complaint would be the matte finish, has areas that are lighter in color than others.

2009-11-24 I have a Bersa 9mm ultra compact I've had other semi auto pistols but the Bersa, is by far the most comfortable to shoot and will hold its own with any high dollar pistol as far as accuracy. My brother bought one and his is equally as good as mine. Many rounds and not one problem A great gun at any price.

2008-05-14 I have had a Thunder 380 for about 2 years, firing about 2500 rounds. Have replaced the slide catch (under warranty). Love the feel, love shooting, love carrying. Realize that shot placement is only way to compensate for lower power of the .380 cartridge. No other problems.
