Beretta Px4 Storm

Beautiful inside and out

The new Beretta Px4 Storm handgun is not only the best example of the semiautomatic sidearm concept, but it is also a perfect manifestation of advanced technology and aesthetics.

The Px4 Storm lines have been conceived to compliment the power, ease of handling, performance and reliability of the pistol matched with an original and sought-after design.

Manufactured in many calibers, the new Beretta Px4 Storm adopts the locked-breech locking system with a rotating barrel, which has been revised and considerably improved by Beretta. The overall dimensions are significantly reduced, considering its major firepower. The light yet resistant pistol frame has been created applying the most modern thermoplastic technology, using reinforced fiberglass techno polymer.

Modular structure, ergonomics and interchangeability of parts place the Px4 Storm among the leading pistols for personal defense as well as law-enforcement use.

Lightweight, ergonomic, modular

Techno polymer Frame. The extensive use of reinforced fiberglass technopolymer has allowed the development of a light and technically advanced firearm with a modern line that is extremely attractive and ergonomic.

The technopolymer is also completely resistant to corrosion and guarantees color consistency for years to come. The rounded surfaces of the pistol are truly snag-free and facilitate the insertion and the extraction of the pistol from the holster. Also the trigger guard is rounded to ensure, when firing with two hands, the correct position of the supporting hand. In front of the trigger guard, underneath the barrel, a Picatinny rail (MIL Std 1913) is located. Integral to the frame, it allows the mounting of laser devices, flash lighters or other types of accessories.

Rotating Barrel. The model Px4 Storm pistol uses the rotating barrel locking system that provides robustness and long-life, even when using powerful calibers. Further enhanced, the system boasts extremely robust locking lugs, located at 180° in order to ensure the best distribution of locking forces when firing. The reduced friction areas between the barrel and the slide, as well as the central block, guarantee a remarkable fluency of operation and great reliability, even under poor climate conditions. In addition, the barrel features an enlarged external muzzle diameter that ensures a precise and constant barrel-to-slide coupling, shot after shot, considerably enhancing the accuracy of the pistol.

Furthermore, the reduction of the external barrel diameter for its remaining length guarantees an improved rear and forward travel of the slide during the operating cycle.

Design and performance

Newly Designed Slide. The sides of the slide are smoothed and snag-proofed easing the insertion and removal of the pistol from its holster. The double transversal serrations (back and rear) on the slide allow for a firm grip even in moist conditions, facilitating slide operation and safety controls.

Low Barrel Position. Thanks to the direct barrel-slide locking system and to the design of the slide itself, the barrel axis comes as close as possible to the theoretical axis of the arm that handles the pistol with the clear benefit of minimizing the muzzle jump when shooting and improving the speed of aim in fast follow-up shots.

Luminescent Superluminova® Sights, interchangeable. The high definition 3-dot sight system sports white indicators treated with Superluminova®, a special photosensitive material that makes them extremely visible even in darkness. A few minutes of exposure to light, even artificial light, are enough to ensure long lasting luminescence to the dots. The rear and front sights can be removed for replacement with other types.

Skeletonized Hammer (F and G Models Only). The weight of the hammer has been

Three Operating Systems. Each version of the Beretta Px4 Storm hand gun offers different features, designed to satisfy specific client needs.

Px4 Storm D: Double action only. Without manual safety/hammer de-cocking lever. The spur less hammer, after each shot, returns to the de-cocked position. Automatic firing pin block safety.

Automatic Firing Pin Block Safety. The Beretta Px4 Storm pistols have a blocking device that prevents forward movement of the firing pin, unless the trigger is completely pulled.

Great fire capacity

SIMPLE FIELD STRIPPING, CLEANING AND RE-ASSEMBLY

The disassembly device is designed to allow the hand gun to be field stripped very quickly and easily and to avoid casual or involuntary disassembly. Disassembly is simple, but re-assembly is even easier and the slide locks automatically when it passes beyond the rear section of the frame.

2010-05-02 I have had my PX4-F in 9mm for 2 years now. I have put about 3,000 rounds through it and never have had a ftf/fte. This side arm is amazing! CC in Galco is ok, this pistol is a little to large framed for CC but it works. I totally enjoy dicharging my PX4-F, the rotating barrel design is wonderful, reducing the recoil nearly to nothing. The night sights are great too, if you can get them charged before you actually need to use them! Next on the list is to aquire a laser or laser/light for the tac rail. Berette = quality...if you haven't bought a PX4 or fired one go do it and try not walk out of the gun shop with out one!

2010-03-25 I have had my Px4 40 S&W for a month now. I wish I had bought it much sooner. This weapon feels so smooth and fires effortlessly. All the good things said about this weapon are true. Ditto to all above.

2009-06-18 I have recently purchased the 9mm type F version of the PX4. I spent a considerably large amount of time researching this gun, and never really found negative feedback on it. The only things that I found were similar to the comment listed here on this page, Just user error/ misunderstanding. This gun has a great design, reliable reputation, and comes with a plethora of options.

2009-03-20 I purchased a .40 cal. PX4 in February 2009, fired 100 rounds through it and field stripped and cleaned it. When I removed the slide, the slide stop fell out. I replaced it without thinking much about it (I'm not a gun smith). The next time I took it to the range, the slide would stick open after every shot. Apparently, a spring fell out of the gun when the slide stop fell out. It's a little scary to think if I had used this weapon in a self-defense situation with only single fire capability. I just sent the gun off to the Beretta factory in MD (at my expense) to have it serviced. I'll give an update on their response. I have had a Glock Model 19 for 14 years with no problems. I've also hunted my whole life without having to be a gunsmith to make a gun work properly. I'm not comfortable with my Beretta right now. However, having fired it side by side with a Sig P229 .40 cal., it did have less recoil and was more accurate. Hopefully, I just experienced a fluke that will be resolved by Beretta!

2009-02-13 I am new to defensive and target handgunning. I bought my first 4 revolvers in the last 8 months and the px4 is my first auto pistol. I've been on an incredibly steep learning curve in choosing an auto pistol, brand, and caliber. Really think I did well with the Beretta px4-C in 9mm. For a full-sized sidearm with 4-inch barrel, it's rounded, ergonomic design makes it feel like a compact pistol. It is fast out of the holster and throws up to on-target in a natural motion. The sights are great. It shoots like a dream, Its reliable and easy to feild strip and maintain. I have avoided so many of the pitfalls of handgunning by being directed by friends to the Beretta brand for its high qaulity and dependability, and to the px4 as a combination of the best design features of the cougar and 92, along with the innovations in polymer and ergonomics. I am very lucky and very happy indeed.

2008-12-02 Just bought my Px4 Storm 40S&W and put 186 rounds through it. It is an amazing gun, dead on accurate. I use Sig Sauer's at my job and must say the Px4 is as good if not better for a lot less money. I brought my wife to the range with me and she never shot a gun before. She shot the Px4 like she had been shooting for years.
